Position Summary
The Logistics / Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the end‑to‑end supply, logistics, and warehouse operations for the Florida facilities of Perricone Farms. This role oversees inventory management, warehousing both internal and external, shipping and receiving, transportation, and fleet operations to ensure customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, food safety, and regulatory compliance. The position plays a critical role in supporting a fast‑growing operation and is expected to build, standardize, and continuously improve logistics and inventory processes.
The manager utilizes Net Suite ERP and related systems to maintain accurate inventory records, support forecasting, manage transactions, and drive data‑based decision‑making.
- Partner with Purchasing to establish inventory levels that support operational demand while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
- Collaborate with Operations and Sales to develop accurate demand forecasting and support a just‑in‑time inventory model for raw materials and finished goods.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for all materials, packaging, and finished goods using Net Suite ERP and related inventory control systems.
- Coordinate product rotation, space allocation, and storage location management across all warehouse and yard locations.
- Retrieve, review, and verify daily production, shipping, and inventory data for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure the safety of employees.
- Oversee all inbound and outbound logistics activities, including juice, packaging supplies, and finished goods, utilizing both internal fleet and third‑party carriers.
- Coordinate receipt and delivery of supplies, ingredients, and finished product, and create and verify accurate bills of lading.
- Supervise outbound load scheduling, appointment management, and shipping priorities to meet customer delivery requirements.
- Review load sheets daily and assign work to ensure on‑time, accurate shipments.
- Communicate regularly with Transportation and other facilities regarding load flow and transfer schedules.
- Ensure compliance with DOT rules and regulations, including legal load limits and weight requirements.
- In collaboration with Maintenance and external vendors, ensure all company vehicles (trucks, yard dogs, trailers) are safe, operational, and maintained according to preventive maintenance schedules.
- Maintain vehicle inspection and maintenance records, including pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance documentation.
- Inspect shipping equipment daily and coordinate repairs as needed.
- Actively promote and enforce employee safety and food safety at all times.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions or behaviors to the Plant Manager and take corrective action when possible.
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, GMPs, and regulatory standards including SQF, USDA, and HACCP.
- Ensure Organic and Non‑GMO procedures are followed to prevent cross‑contamination.
- Inspect trailers prior to loading to ensure cleanliness and freedom from debris, rodents, and odors.
- Inspect products during loading to ensure proper palletization, shrink wrapping, and product integrity.
- Manage a team of 15–20 employees within the warehouse and logistics departments.
- Create and maintain employee work schedules aligned with production needs while minimizing overtime.
- Closely manage freight costs at or below budget.
- Conduct daily team meetings focused on safety, productivity, and accuracy.
- Train, coach, and develop staff; evaluate performance and administer corrective action in collaboration with Human Resources.
- Initiate and recommend plans to motivate employees and improve departmental performance.
- Ensure all staff are properly trained and follow company policies and procedures.
- Control shipment accuracy, product standards, and receiving accuracy using established systems and accuracy programs.
- Ensure economical and efficient use of labor and equipment.
- Communicate proactively with Plant Management regarding any inability to fulfill orders, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Serve as an ongoing advocate for continuous improvement across logistics, inventory, safety, and service performance.
