Aircraft Systems Mechanic II
Assists the Supervisor in the production of high-quality aircraft following Piper Drawings, Process Specifications (PPS) and other manufacturing instructions. Assists in meeting or exceeding planned production and delivery schedules while maximizing company resources to achieve company goals.
Essential Job Functions:
Performs or assists the Supervisor in the following tasks:
- Work and assist with any job or help needed, even those outside the department assigned.
- Work special projects, assist with experimental systems or service center needs, and provide systems subject matter expert guidance for developmental aircraft incorporation into production line.
- Work as a manufacturing representative during the FAA inspection and auditing of manufacturing processes
- Ability to and willingness to receive and share practical knowledge, train, and mentor teammates within career path to perform necessary job functions and requirements in order to attain satisfactory levels of performance and production effectivity.
- Adhere, maintain and assist teammates within career path to all departmental compliance requirements such as Safety, Environmental Protection, FOD and Tool Control, 5S and other assigned programs.
- Perform duties of lower graded position within Career Path and other duties as assigned by supervision.

- High school diploma or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of high school diploma.
- Successful completion Aircraft Systems program or 2 years' experience preferred
- Related aircraft - manufacturing / service experience requirements:
- Aircraft Systems Installer I: ≤ 2 years of experience
- Aircraft Systems Installer II: ≥ 2 - 5 years of experience
- Ability to work scheduled shift and hours, including overtime
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Use of hand and power tools as required
- Follow all safety procedures
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and effective communication skills (written and verbal).
- Adhere to Piper Drawings, Process Specifications (PPS) and other manufacturing instructions
- Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate job specific equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking. Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. Other physical requirements include the ability to bend, kneel, crouch, twist, balance and reach above, out, and below.

- Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards:
Works primarily inside and may occasionally work outdoors. May be exposed to odors, chemical agents, dust, fumes, gases, sharp objects, hazardous or moving equipment, wet slippery floors, and extremes in temperature and humidity. - Interacts regularly with various staff and employees, and occasionally with vendors, suppliers, community members and regulatory agency representatives.
- Supports all operational excellence initiatives ensuring full participation in all department services, continuous improvement efforts, and training programs.
