Subassembler I - 2nd Shift (Full Time)

Assists the Supervisor in the production of high-quality aircraft parts & subassemblies following Piper Drawings, Process Specifications (PPS) and other manufacturing instructions. Assists in meeting or exceeding planned production and delivery schedules while maximizing company resources to achieve company goals.
Essential Job Functions:
Performs or assists the Supervisor in the following tasks
Drill out and rivet aircraft parts and subassemblies, including those requiring use of small, portable assembly tools.
Assemble aircraft system parts and accessories using common fasteners such as rivets, nuts, bolts, washers and other hardware.
Apply sealants, adhesives, corrosion preventive materials and other compounds as necessary.
Maintain the departments compliance with Piper QAM/QIM and FAA requirements.
Rework discrepancies as necessary.
Participate in continuous improvement efforts to improve the teams performance including schedule delivery, reduction of late work, elimination of quality defects & scrap, increasing productivity and generating cost reductions.
Partner with senior teammates within career path to receive and share practical knowledge for proper training to perform necessary job functions and requirements in order to attain satisfactory levels of performance and production effectivity.
Adhere and maintain all departmental compliance requirements such as Safety, Environmental Protection, FOD and Tool Control, 5S and other assigned programs. Perform duties as assigned by supervision.

High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
Related sub assembler experience requirements:- Subassembler I: 1 year of experience preferred
- Subassembler II: 2 - 3 years of experience preferred
- Subassembler III: 3 - 4 years of experience preferred
- Senior Subassembler: 5 years of experience preferred
Ability to work scheduled shift and hours, including overtime
Ability to work with minimal supervision Use of hand and power tools as required
Follow all safety procedures Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and effective communication skills (written and verbal).
Adhere to Piper Drawings, Process Specifications (PPS) and other manufacturing instructions
Physical DemandsDemonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate job specific equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking. Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs. Other physical requirements include the ability to bend, kneel, crouch, twist, balance and reach above, out, and below.

Working ConditionsEnvironmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards:
Works primarily inside and may occasionally work outdoors. May be exposed to odors, chemical agents, dust, fumes, gases, sharp objects, hazardous or moving equipment, wet slippery floors, and extremes in temperature and humidity. Interacts regularly with various staff and employees, and occasionally with vendors, suppliers, community members and regulatory agency representatives.
Supports all operational excellence initiatives ensuring full participation in all department services, continuous improvement efforts, and training programs.
