Registered Nurse – Step Down (PCU/Stepdown)

Location:

Vero Beach, FL 32960

Shift: Night, 3 × 12-hour shifts (18:45 – 07:15)

Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for the Step Down unit (PCU) at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Medical Center. The ideal candidate will have experience in progressive care and cardiac telemetry, with the ability to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. First‑time travelers are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in a Step Down / PCU setting.
• Monitor, interpret, and manage cardiac dysrhythmias.
• Administer IV therapy, medications, and blood products safely.
• Manage central and peripheral lines.
• Respond to rapid response and code teams as needed.
• Provide respiratory support, including oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management.
• Adhere to isolation precautions and proper PPE use.
• Complete required modules and documentation in EPIC.
• Float within scope to meet facility needs across multiple hospital locations (Martin North, South, Tradition).

Qualifications

Required:

• Registered Nurse license (Active, no license hits accepted)
• Minimum 2 years PCU experience, ICU experience preferred
• BLS & ACLS (must have at time of submission)
• NIHSS (must obtain prior to start)
• Epic experience – Level 3 or 4
• Familiarity with cardiac drips
• Nicotine-free and compliant with negative 10-panel drug screen cotinine test
