Short Term Acute Care – Teaching Hospital - Unit:
Emergency Department (ED) - Contract Type:
Travel RN (26 weeks) - Start / End Dates:
June 2, 2026 – December 1, 2026 - Shift: 3 x 12‑hour night shifts (18:45 – 07:15); 36 hours per week
- Weekend Requirement: 2 weekends per month
- Float:
May float to nearby hospitals within 20 miles - Charting: EPIC experience required
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,460 – $1,540
- Scrub Color / Parking:
White scrubs; free parking in unrestricted spaces
- Provide high‑quality, compassionate care to patients in a fast‑paced Emergency Department (ED / ER)
- Perform triage, assessments, and implement interventions for a wide variety of acute and emergent conditions
- Manage advanced emergency care including arterial lines, BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patients, central lines, and IV vasopressors
- Treat trauma cases including gunshot wounds and amputations when needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapy, social work) to optimize patient outcomes
- Accurately document all patient care in EPIC and maintain thorough clinical documentation
- Float to other units or nearby hospitals within scope of practice as required
- Adhere to hospital policies, including maintaining nicotine‑free status
Job Requirements
- Minimum 18 months recent ER nursing experience required; 2 years preferred
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (no pending licenses accepted)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA or American Red Cross) at time of submission
- NIHSS certification required prior to start
- EPIC charting experience required
- Nicotine‑free policy (negative 10‑panel + nicotine drug screen required)
- Ability to float within scope to other local hospitals as needed
- First‑time travelers accepted — excellent opportunity for travel nurses new to assignments
- COVID‑19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
- Successful completion of EKG and Pharmacology tests during orientation (2 attempts max each)
- All requested time off must be submitted at time of application
