Position SummaryThe Lead Plumber Superintendent is a senior field leadership role responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of plumbing installation, maintenance, and related construction activities on commercial and residential projects. This position ensures work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with applicable plumbing codes, specifications, and company standards.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and lead plumbing crews, subcontractors, and helpers on job sites to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to schedules.
- Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, shop drawings, and project documents, communicating requirements to team members.
- Coordinate daily work activities, manpower, materials, tools and equipment to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Ensure all plumbing installations are compliant with local, state, and federal codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Monitor job progress, troubleshoot field challenges, and adjust work sequences to meet project milestones.
- Conduct on-site inspections, quality control reviews, and enforce safety protocols in collaboration with safety officers.
- Mentor and train junior plumbers, apprentices, and field staff, fostering technical growth and professional development.
- Participate in job meetings with project managers, owners, and other trades to coordinate inter-disciplinary work.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, labor hours, material usage logs, and related documentation.
- Valid plumbing license appropriate for Florida (Journeyman or higher).
- A minimum of 5–8 years of hands-on plumbing experience with a strong background in commercial construction and crew leadership.
- Proven experience managing plumbing crews, coordinating subcontractors, and directing multi-phase projects.
- Ability to read and interpret technical plans, specifications, and code requirements.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification
- Backflow Prevention Certification
- Medical Gas Installer Certification
- EPA Section 608 Certification
- Experience with digital job tracking, scheduling, and reporting tools.
Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs, work in a variety of weather conditions, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and work on feet for extended periods.
