This is a professional, direct service position responsible for providing case management and participant support services to individuals enrolled in the Mental Health Court program. The Client Case Manager works under the general supervision of the Mental Health Court Coordinator within the Community Services Department and collaborates with the multidisciplinary Mental Health Court team to support participant engagement, compliance with court requirements, and access to coordinated behavioral health and social services.

This role plays a key part in promoting stability, accountability, and successful program outcomes for court-involved individuals with mental health needs.

• Provide direct case management services to Mental Health Court participants, including assessment, service coordination, monitoring, and follow-up
• Assist participants in understanding Mental Health Court expectations, treatment requirements, and court ordered conditions
• Support participant compliance with treatment plans, appointments, and court appearances
• Coordinate referrals and access to behavioral health treatment, substance use services, housing resources, employment supports, and basic needs
• Conduct participant outreach, engagement, and follow up to support retention and successful program completion

• Participate in Mental Health Court staffing meetings and provide timely updates on participant progress, barriers, and service needs
• Collaborate with the Mental Health Administrator, court personnel, treatment providers, and community partners to ensure coordinated service delivery
• Support preparation of participant progress summaries and reports for court proceedings

• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential participant records, case notes, and documentation in designated case management systems
• Ensure documentation and record keeping comply with applicable state, federal, and county requirements and confidentiality standards
• Assist with data collection and reporting to support program monitoring, performance tracking, and outcomes measurement

• Identify, develop, and maintain working knowledge of community-based resources and referral partners
• Support participant applications for benefits and services, including coordination of appointments and required documentation
• Conduct home visits or community based meetings with participants as appropriate and in accordance with program protocols

• Participate in training and professional development related to mental health, substance use disorders, trauma informed care, and problem-solving court practices
• Provide input to the Mental Health Court Administrator on program improvements, service gaps, and emerging participant needs

• Perform other related work, including duties during weather or other extreme emergencies, as required

Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, criminal justice, human services, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university, and two years of experience in a social services, behavioral health, or justice involved setting. A comparable combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

• Valid Florida Driver’s License may be required depending on assignment.

Knowledge of mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and recovery oriented and trauma informed practices.

Knowledge of problem-solving court models, including Mental Health Court principles and team based approaches.

Understanding of community based behavioral health and social service systems.

Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and confidentiality requirements related to behavioral health and justice involved populations.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with participants, families, and multidisciplinary court teams.
