Overview
Perricone Farms has partnered with Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice Company. Perricone Farms is seeking a CDL Driver for the Fort Pierce facility. This is a full-time, day-shift role located in Vero Beach, FL 32968, with a road-focused travel requirement and a benefits package including health, vision, dental, life insurance, and a 401K plan.
Summary:
Responsible for operating trucks for hauling, storage and accessibility. Assist with the needs of the Extraction team through various projects.
- Daily, ensure trailers are in place for production staff to access materials easily.
- Daily, move trailers between the yard and on-site and off-site cooler locations.
- As needed, take truck/trailers to weigh station.
- Bring dump trailers around to pavement to empty trash receptacles.
- As needed, operate fruit unloading ramp.
- As needed, clean up fruit unloading area.
- Operate forklift to load and unload drums, materials and other production items as needed.
- Maintain a level of professionalism in attitude with staff.
- Daily, operate the trucks, forklift and other machinery such as the electric pallet jack safely.
- Assist in other areas of production as directed by Production Leads, Manager or other supervisory staff.
- Maintain truck log according to state and federal regulations.
- Maintain telephone contact with supervisor to receive pickup and delivery instructions.
- Load and unload trucks.
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections prior to checking truck equipment and supplies (tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water).
- As needed, perform emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains, and spark plugs.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Understand and comply with regulatory standards and certifications such as SQF, USDA and HACCP.
- Ensure that all SQF, Organic, Non-GMO procedures are followed to prevent cross-contamination.
- If food and/or employee safety is jeopardized, report unsafe conditions and/or acts to the supervisor immediately; attempt to remedy the condition if possible.
- Adhere to and enforce company policies and safety regulations.
- Understand, comply with and implement company policies and procedures.
- Ensure the proper use of all machinery and maintain a safe work environment.
- Comply with all Plant, State and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations.
Position reports to Operations Manager.
