The Utility Pipe Layer is responsible for installing, aligning, and inspecting underground utilities such as water mains, sewer lines, storm drains and other piping systems. This role involves working as part of a construction crew to prepare trenches, lay pipe to grade, and ensure proper connections that meet safety and project specifications. The pipelayer will also assist with keeping machines and equipment maintained, assist in clean‑up of the job site, and perform other duties assigned by the Foreman or other management.

• Install, align, and inspect underground utilities such as water mains, sewer lines, storm drains and other piping systems
• Prepare trenches, lay pipe to grade and ensure proper connections according to safety and project specifications
• Maintain machines and equipment and assist with site cleanup
• Follow instructions from the Foreman or other management and assist with other duties as assigned

• Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
• Class A CDL strongly desired
• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• Punctual and dependable; able to work varied hours including nights, early mornings and weekends as required
• Tolerate and work in variable weather conditions and dirty, dusty environments
• Will be a union member or willing to become a union member; prior union membership not required
• 3–5 years of road construction laborer experience preferred
• Minimum 6 months experience in assembling and installing sanitary sewer pipe, manholes, water main and storm sewer pipe and manholes
• Knowledge of confined spaces, OSHA trenching and sloping preferred
• Ability to lift 75 pounds
