Utility Pipelayer Laborer

The Utility Pipe Layer is responsible for installing, aligning, and inspecting underground utilities such as water mains, sewer lines, storm drains, and other piping systems.

• Prepare trenches and lay pipe to grade.
• Ensure proper connections that meet safety and project specifications.
• Assist with maintaining machines and equipment.
• Help in cleanup of the job site.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Foreman or management.

• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record;
  Class A CDL strongly desired.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Able to lift 75 pounds.
• Ability to work varied hours including nights, early mornings, and weekends.
• Tolerance for variable weather conditions and dirty, dusty environments.
• Member of a local laborer union or willingness to become a union member (union membership not required prior to employment).
• 3–5 years of road construction laborer experience preferred.
• Minimum 6 months experience in assembling and installing sanitary sewer pipe and manholes, water main, and storm sewer pipe and manholes.
• Knowledge of confined spaces, OSHA trenching, and sloping preferred.
