Vice President of Engineering (Hardware)

Our client, an established manufacturer of rugged embedded computing and mission‑critical hardware systems, is seeking a Vice President of Engineering to lead its multi‑disciplinary engineering organization. This executive role provides strategic direction across electrical, mechanical, and software engineering functions while ensuring technical rigor, scalable processes, and disciplined product execution.

Operating in highly regulated, performance‑driven markets including defense and aerospace, the organization requires a leader who can align engineering execution with long‑term product strategy. This is a visible leadership role responsible for shaping the technical roadmap, strengthening engineering culture, and driving sustainable growth.

• Provide strategic leadership across electrical, mechanical, and software engineering teams.
• Oversee full product lifecycle development including requirements, architecture, design, verification, and sustainment.
• Drive disciplined design reviews, validation standards, and quality controls aligned with regulatory expectations.
• Partner with executive leadership to align engineering priorities with business objectives and revenue goals.
• Develop and mentor engineering managers while advancing scalable processes, tools, and operational excellence.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 15+ years of progressive engineering experience with significant senior leadership responsibility.
• Proven success leading complex, customer‑driven product development in regulated or high‑reliability industries.
• Deep technical fluency in embedded hardware systems and cross‑disciplinary engineering evaluation.
• Demonstrated ability to build high‑performing teams and lead organizational growth.
