Purchasing Agent

As a Purchasing Agent at Cleary Building Corp., you will play a key role in managing vendor relationships, optimizing inventory, and ensuring timely delivery of materials for building projects. This role requires strategic thinking, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors to secure optimal agreements.
• Maintain adequate inventory levels to meet project timelines while minimizing waste.
• Monitor, manage, and expedite supplier deliveries to ensure on-time performance.
• Identify and address delivery challenges, proactively resolving potential issues.
• Minimize transportation costs for inbound materials and products.
• Forecast material pricing trends to support budget and project planning.
• Assist with warranty claims and vendor credit management.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Manufacturing teams to streamline supply chain processes and adapt to changes in production schedules.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management or a related field
• 1-3 years experience as a purchasing agent, preferably in a construction or building materials
• Experience with vendor pricing negotiations
• Ability to develop and monitor inventory goals and supplier metrics
• Must possess a high sense of urgency and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
• Good computer skills and experience working in various computer systems.
