The store manager leads Mattress Firm's vision and company initiatives, achieving sales performance goals by holding associates accountable for in‑store merchandising across multiple store units. The manager also leads selling programs, drives related KPI results, and supports the omni‑channel experience. This individual ensures teams always put customers at the center and creates a compelling and engaging environment for MFRM team members.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and coach the Associate team, developing their skills and fostering a collaborative, motivated culture dedicated to success.
- New Hire Onboarding and Team Building:
Conduct one‑on‑one meetings to understand team motivations and personal/professional aspirations; develop a comprehensive team "bio book" that evolves with new insights; conduct 30‑60‑90‑day check‑ins with new members. - Workforce Management:
Plan and execute store staffing schedules, reconcile punches, and utilize Operations team support. Ensure adherence to company policies, appearance and functionality standards, and state regulations. - Talent Development:
Provide technical and product knowledge to associates and customers. Serve as subject‑matter expert, analyze company reports to identify skill gaps, and address them through coaching. - Business Operations and Acumen:
Achieve or exceed individual store financial targets through effective execution and customer service. Ensure adherence to merchandising, marketing, and POP standards. Partner with marketing to plan and monitor the store’s social media strategy. Oversee opening and closing procedures, inventory levels, merchandise flow, cash handling, payment acceptance, deposit processes, and customer invoicing. Maintain awareness of competition, develop counter‑strategies, conduct inventory processes, and research discrepancies.
Execute company initiatives and request‑based activities requested by the supervisor.

Competitive pay range of $75,000 – $92,000 per year
* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities may be available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
