Lead Room Attendant

You are someone who knows firsthand what it takes to clean a full board of rooms and understands the sense of pride that comes with owning your own floor. You've seen how the right leadership and organizational practices can make people's lives easier and make a team function like a well oiled machine. You know hospital corners aren't just for hospitals and the perfect crease on a bed sheet makes you smile.

It doesn't matter where you are, you can't help yourself from refolding the bathroom towels. You understand that "Housekeeping Appreciation" is every day, not just a week in September. You thrive on the excitement that comes from turning a room during the 4 pm check-in rush. You can't walk a hallway without picking up loose items, and your pockets are always full when you get home from work.

The Lead Room Attendant reports to the Hotel Manager while providing some insight to the Director of Hospitality or General Manager, working together to deliver remarkable service throughout all aspects of the department. A large degree of care is needed to support the Housekeeping department, while collaboration is needed to work in tandem with other departments. The Lead Room Attendant helps lead the team using a collaborative approach as they know that the ability to act as a soldier is as critical as being a general.

The Lead Room Attendant is expected to lead by example while spending much of the day engaging with both associates and guests. Leaders are encouraged to inspire and challenge each other to be their best. As a leader within Single Barrel Hospitality and The Aldenberg, the Lead Room Attendant will work with a phenomenal group of peers who insist that they are collaborative, humble, experienced and open-minded – no egos are allowed.

The Lead Room Attendant will maintain and execute the standards for the guest room experience at all times.

Reinforce the company's ideologies to ensure the experiences of genuine hospitality, intuitive service and collaboration are implemented and modeled

Ensure a sense of belonging for teammates by upholding the company's values and guidelines for a respectful workplace and developing and environment where diversity, equity and inclusion is celebrated

Demonstrate and uphold behaviors outlined within the Teammates Handbook

Demonstrate a positive work ethic and attitude

Consistently guide and monitor business ethics, ensuring good business practices

Demonstrate passion and an aptitude for all aspects of a guest's experience, coaching your team to handle all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, encouraging your team to find creative solutions in order accommodate guest requests whenever possible

Observe conditions of all physical facilities and equipment in the hotel operation, noticing the smallest detail which may go unseen by the untrained eye

Work in collaboration with other operating divisions and any third-party vendors to execute detailed cleaning and preventative maintenance programs to ensure the appearance of all furniture, fixtures and equipment throughout the hotel

Assist with and help coach your team to complete the necessary activities for the day, such as inspecting rooms, cleaning guest rooms or stocking supplies, to ensure standards are achieved and associates feel supported and valued to exceed guests' needs

Be knowledgeable in all matters related to the safety, security, satisfaction and well-being of hotel guests and teammates, responding swiftly and effectively in any hotel emergency or safety situations

Foster open lines of communication within the department.

Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to teammates to develop their skill set, fostering an environment of continuous growth

Perform other job-related duties as requested

(1) one year of Hospitality-related experience, preferably within Housekeeping

Proficiency in the English language in reading, writing and verbal communication;
Spanish language skills are a plus

Adaptable interpersonal communication skills to address all employee levels of the hotel

Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Word to create/update spreadsheets
