North Versailles, PATOPS Staffing is seeking a dependable and skilled Woodworker / Carpenter for a growing manufacturing company in the North Versailles area. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, is comfortable using woodworking and construction tools, and takes pride in building accurate, durable products.

The Woodworker / Carpenter will measure, cut, assemble, and finish custom wooden packaging designed to protect industrial equipment and other products during transportation.

Responsibilities:

Build custom wooden shipping crates, boxes, skids, and pallets.

Measure, mark, and cut lumber and sheet materials according to specifications.

Assemble products using nails, screws, bolts, adhesives, and other fasteners.

Use saws, drills, nail guns, sanders, and other woodworking or construction tools.

Build custom supports, braces, cradles, hold-downs, and removable crate walls.

Read tape measures, basic drawings, work orders, and customer specifications.

Inspect completed products for proper dimensions, strength, and workmanship.

Make adjustments or repairs when products do not meet specifications.

Apply sealants, polyurethane, paint, or other finishes when required.

Assist with wrapping, securing, and preparing completed products for shipment.

Safely move lumber, materials, and completed products throughout the shop.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.

Perform other production and shop duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Previous woodworking, carpentry, construction, crate-building, pallet-building, or manufacturing experience is preferred.

Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.

Experience using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking equipment.

Ability to follow measurements, written instructions, and basic drawings.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Dependable attendance and reliable transportation.

Willingness to learn company production and quality standards.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the shift.

Ability to bend, reach, kneel, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements.

Ability to safely handle lumber, plywood, tools, and completed wooden products.

Comfortable working in an active production and woodworking environment.
