Job Overview

As a Field Merchandiser, you'll have the opportunity to work independently to showcase your organizational and time‑management skills, and your ability to establish retailer relationships while representing Hallmark. You will collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement, maintain inventory levels, and support seasonal resets and installations when needed.

Salary and Schedule Details
  • Your starting hourly pay rate will be $15.00‑$17.00 per hour depending on your skills and experience.
  • Paid training, delivered through live, hands‑on instruction and virtual classroom training.
  • Hallmark part‑time employees are offered voluntary benefits that include medical, dental, vision, etc.
  • Eligible employees receive annual pay increases.
  • This is a part‑time position with a variable schedule during the work week.
  • Average weekly hours are between 8‑12 hours per week.
  • Availability the week before and after major holidays—including weekends—is required.
  • Availability to support season changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support.
Your Role and Responsibilities

You will perform service work in the Hallmark department of a variety of retail stores such as grocery stores, drug stores, department stores, and mass retailers. The position consists of three major components:

  • Day‑to‑day engagement:
    Using a mobile device provided by Hallmark, you will restock, organize, and monitor the inventory of Hallmark products within and outside the Hallmark department. Technology is critical for communication with your supervisor, time reporting, feedback, and surveys required for merchandising activities. Professional and courteous interaction with store employees, management, and customers is vital.
  • Holiday support:
    Hallmark’s operations revolve around seasonal demand. Leading up to and following holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, you can expect additional days and extended hours. You may be required to work on the holiday itself, including weekends.
  • Department resets:
    You may be part of a team that installs and performs tasks such as building and installing Hallmark fixtures, relocating card departments, and resetting card sections. Typically, you will be notified two weeks in advance of remodel assignments, which may include evenings or weekends.
  • Team support:
    As part of Hallmark’s field organization, you will support other team members as needed in their territories.
Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding job that requires a high level of energy and a sense of urgency. You will work on the sales floor and in back stockrooms, consistently pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures up to 30 pounds throughout the day and up to 50 pounds on occasion. You will also kneel, squat, walk, stand, and may be required to climb stairs and step ladders.

Qualifications
  • At least 18 years old.
  • Able to read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to grasp, pull, lift, and carry products up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Able to operate a digital hand‑held device to open, read, and interpret documents.
  • Access to a Wi‑Fi network and the internet.
  • Consistent transportation to travel to and between assigned stores as scheduled.
