POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the safe and professional operation of the trucks and trailers and other company equipment including box trucks and demountable trucks. The driver is responsible for performing pre and post trip daily inspections, and to report any and all mechanical problems. Must use proper lifting techniques, and have working knowledge of load securement rules and regulations. Must adhere to all applicable DOT rules and regulations, as well as company policies.

Must maintain Class A CDL and D O T medical certificate. Driver is responsible for maintaining clean interior of vehicle. Driver must maintain clean and professional image while performing company duties. Driver is expected to assist in loading/unloading of vehicles. To transport material to and from specified points and locations.

Duties will also include but are not limited to:

  • Inspect trucks prior to beginning routes to ensure safe operating condition.
  • Drive trucks, following established routes, through residential streets or alleys or through business or industrial areas and interstates.
  • Load and/or unload materials.
  • Refuel trucks or add other fluids, such as oil or DEF fluid or antifreeze
  • Fill out defective equipment reports.
  • Communicate with supervisor or dispatcher concerning delays, unsafe sites, accidents, equipment breakdowns, or other maintenance problems.
  • Communicate road or weather conditions to determine how routes will be affected and ensure safety procedures are followed at all times.
  • Support operations as assigned when not on the road.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (M.V.R.) required.
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (C.D.L.) Class A required.
REQUIRED CLEARANCES, LICENSES, AND CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Current Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) Medical Certification is required within 2 weeks of hire.
