This assignment offers the opportunity to step into a leadership support role within a hospital system, focused on strengthening Central Business Office (CBO) operations and improving overall revenue cycle performance.

We are seeking consultants who bring a unique blend of hands‑on operational support and strategic insight, individuals who can contribute to day‑to‑day workflows while also providing guidance and strategic direction to drive sustainable improvement.

This interim opportunity is based in the southeastern United States, a region known for its welcoming communities, growing healthcare systems, and accessible metro amenities.

LOCATION: southeastern, US - this is an Onsite Interim Role

ABOUT THIS OUTSTANDING INTERIM OPPORTUNITY

  • 3+ month assignment - Reports to the AVP Patient Financial Services
  • Full-time onsite Interim assignment supporting a hospital system’s Patient Financial Services and Revenue Cycle teams, initially focused on accounts receivable, denial management, payment collections, and Central Business Office (CBO) workflows
  • Experienced in data retrieval and reviewing accounts during day‑to‑day operations
  • Lead and support special projects as assigned by the AVP of Patient Financial Services, including evaluating opportunities, presenting actionable solutions, and assisting with execution and implementation
  • Assess current workflows, identify gaps contributing to accounts receivable delays, and implement corrective action plans to improve cash flow and reduce denials
  • Partner with leadership to prioritize aged accounts and develop structured work plans to address backlog and improve productivity
  • Provide mentorship support to existing business office staff
  • Ensure adherence to federal and state billing regulations and promote best practices in compliance and documentation
  • Deliver regular updates outlining progress, barriers, and measurable improvements in operational and financial outcomes

EXPERIENCE | EDUCATION | LICENSURE | CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in hospital Patient Financial Services or Revenue Cycle operations
  • Demonstrated success in improving cash collections, reducing accounts receivable days, and stabilizing underperforming central business office operations
  • Strong working knowledge of charge master management, payer contracting analytics, reimbursement methodologies, and denial resolution processes
  • Proven ability to analyze complex financial and operational data, develop actionable plans, and drive measurable performance improvement
  • Experience collaborating across finance, managed care, reimbursement, IT, and clinical departments to strengthen revenue cycle outcomes
  • Experience with Cerner or STAR patient accounting software is a plus
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of hospital staff through executive levels
  • Available to travel to the client site and work a full‑time schedule, M - F, or as needed
