Job Description
As a Painter with People Ready Skilled Trades, you’ll support a high-profile commercial construction project in Huntsville, AL. This federal project will involve working on a modern, large-scale facility, requiring precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols.

- Prepare surfaces (drywall, wood, metal) by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and priming for proper paint adhesion.
- Apply paint using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment for precise and efficient results.
- Operate and maintain spray equipment, including airless paint sprayers, HVLP sprayers, and texture sprayers.
- Mask and tape surfaces to protect adjacent areas and ensure clean lines.
- Use scissor lifts, boom lifts, and ladders safely to access high or hard-to-reach areas.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work spaces in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
- Follow safety guidelines for the proper storage of paint and disposal of waste materials.

This is a federal project
, and all applicants must pass an FBI background check for clearance to the site.
- Age:Must be at least 18 years old.
- Experience:Minimum of 2+ years of commercial painting experience required.
- Proficiency in cleaning, sanding, caulking, and priming surfaces.
- Skilled in using rollers, brushes, and spray equipment for various coatings and finishes.
- Understanding of different paints, primers, stains, and protective coatings and their applications.
- Expertise in operating spray painting equipment and achieving high-quality finishes.
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and walk for extended periods throughout the day.
- Ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Preferred experience with Airless Paint Sprayers, HVLP Sprayers, Electrostatic Paint Sprayers, Gas-Powered Sprayers, and Electric Sprayers.
- Position requires a
drug screening
and passing an
FBI background check
for clearance to the federal site.
Reliable transportation is required.
