Travel RN - Case Management​/Utilization Review - Case Management

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Case Management position in Vicksburg, MS, requiring at least 3 years of acute hospital case management experience and proficiency in both discharge planning and utilization review.

Job Details

• Day shift position, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with rotating weekend shifts,

• Hospital-based Case Management unit,

• Acute care patient population requiring discharge planning and utilization review,

• Primary EMR is Cerner;
Mor Care is used for CM documentation and Care Port for referrals,

• 13-week contract,

Job Requirements

• Active MS or Compact RN license required,

• Current BLS certification required (must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment start),

• Minimum 3 years of acute hospital case management experience required,

• Recent experience in both discharge planning and utilization review in a hospital setting required,

• Proficiency in utilization review using MCG criteria required,

• Experience with discharge coordination to home health, SNF, LTAC, and IRF settings required,

• Knowledge of patient choice letters and Issued Medicare Notices (IMMs) per Conditions of Participation required,

• Valid driver's license required for consideration,

• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months,

Additional Information

• This is a strictly acute hospital case management role - outpatient, home health, hospice, charge nurse, or staff nurse experience does not fulfill the experience requirement,

• Candidates must be prepared to function independently as an acute hospital case manager starting on day 2 of the assignment,

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local travelers will not be considered,

• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any CHS facility within the past 2 years are not eligible,

• RTO requests must be for less than one week in duration,
