The Glaze Attendant Operator is responsible for preparing, applying, and monitoring glaze or sauce application systems to ensure fresh product is coated evenly and consistently according to quality, yield, and food safety standards. This position supports product appearance, flavor consistency, and production efficiency while adhering to Tyson policies and procedures in a fresh food manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare glaze or sauce mixtures according to approved formulas and specifications.
- Operate and monitor glaze application equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure proper coverage, distribution, and consistency of glaze on product.
- Monitor product quality, appearance, and yield throughout the process.
- Maintain appropriate glaze levels and flow rates during production.
- Make minor adjustments to equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor glaze temperatures, viscosity, and application parameters as required.
- Identify and report process deviations, equipment issues, or quality concerns immediately.
- Perform routine equipment checks and assist with cleaning and sanitation activities.
- Complete required production, quality, and ingredient usage documentation accurately.
- Work closely with Production, QA, and Sanitation teams.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, hygiene, and allergen control procedures.
- Comply with OSHA regulations and Tyson safety policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the glaze area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Work directly with raw and fresh products in temperature-controlled environments.
- Adhere to strict food safety, sanitation, allergen control, and contamination prevention standards.
- Wear required PPE, including gloves, aprons, hairnets, face shields, and protective footwear as required.
- Work in wet, humid, and temperature-controlled conditions typical of glaze application areas.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior food production, ingredient handling, or sauce/glaze application experience preferred.
- Experience operating coating or spraying equipment a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and consistency.
- Ability to follow recipes, formulas, and specifications accurately.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn equipment operation.
- Basic math and documentation skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to safety and food safety standards.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to lift and handle ingredient containers as required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
- Ability to work in wet, humid, or cold conditions typical of a fresh plant environment.
Must be available to work assigned shifts. Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required based on production needs.
