Duties
Assists the shift operator in the care and operation of engine room equipment by making frequent checks of temperature and pressure gauges for proper readings.
Grease equipment using pressure gun, selecting the proper lubricant for different locations.
Maintains engine room in a clean and orderly condition.
Stands by control panel during peak load conditions to keep generators in balance so that operations will not be delayed by one generator becoming overloaded and circuit breaker kicking out.
Performs preventive maintenance work represented by changing fuel oil filters, replacing pumps, changing oil, assembly and disassembly work in assisting superior on major repair jobs.
