Job DetailsFusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Med Surg RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Vicksburg, Mississippi. The candidate will provide high‑quality, patient‑centered care while benefiting from competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and a dedicated clinical team.
Required Qualifications- One year of recent Med Surg RN experience
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification
- NIHSS certification
- ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification
- Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
The Med Surg Registered Nurse delivers comprehensive, high‑quality care in medical‑surgical and telemetry units, assessing patient conditions, monitoring telemetry data, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Essential Work Functions- Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in adherence to nursing standards.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and document changes.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures and assist in treatments.
- Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for recovery.
- Document patient information, vital signs, medications, treatments, and outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement care plans.
- Manage multiple patients efficiently and prioritize care based on acuity.
- Follow infection control practices, including hand hygiene and PPE use.
- Advocate for patients’ needs and preferences.
- Facilitate discharge planning and coordinate with external resources.
- Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice.
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
- Read, write, and communicate in English.
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions.
- Proficiency in PC skills.
- Remain in a stationary position, move about, and move equipment (50‑100lbs).
- Push, pull, and bend.
- Work effectively with a variety of personnel in a positive, professional manner.
- Grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and assist in procedures.
- Handle frequent public contact and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Work under close supervision occasionally, as well as independently.
- Contend with irregular activity schedules and maintain concentration on detail.
- Possess visual acuity and effective communication.
