About the Position
Assigned to the MSU, you will tend the mechanical functions and features of cable reels, sheaves and gears that mechanically control a continuous supply of cable to the mat boat upper deck during the launching of concrete mattresses.
- The duty location will be wherever the Mat Sinking Unit is located.
- This position is a Permanent, Full-Time, Seasonal Appointment.
- The position is advertised externally under Vacancy CEDC--DHA.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element)Ability to do the work of a(n) Launching Equipment Tender without more than normal supervision.
Duties include:
Tending mechanical function of cable reels, sheaves, or gears to control a continuous supply of cable or wires and initial placement of mat into launching equipment.
- Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort:
The work involves standing, walking, stooping, climbing and crawling. Work may be performed in an awkward or cramped position. Incumbent frequently handles, lifts, or carries parts or equipment.
Incumbent is exposed to dirt and grease occasionally, dust from mat deck above frequently, noise is constantly disagreeable, natural weather elements are disagreeable frequently since heat from the sun produces abnormal temperatures below steel decks, and work area serves as a funnel for cold air in winter months with no way of providing heat.
