Shore Tankerman Orleans, LA

Shore Tankerman – Magnolia Marine Transportation (MMT) has an opening in the New Orleans, LA area for a Shore Tankerman Position. This position is responsible for assisting vessel crews in conducting cargo transfers and solo cargo transfers, repairing equipment, communicating equipment deficiencies, cooperating with shoreside facilities to ensure safe and USCG‑compliant cargo transfer, providing leadership, guidance and training in tanking to vessel crews, and reporting unsafe conditions and nonconformities to the supervisor.

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred
• Must hold a valid Driver's License
• Must hold a valid TWIC card
• Must hold a U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Credential with a tankerman endorsement
• At least three years as a licensed tankerman
• Ability to maintain a good working relationship with all employees
• Good working knowledge of MMT barges and oil transfer procedures

• Assist towboat crews in conducting cargo transfers
• Conduct cargo transfer operations when towboats are not present
• Repair equipment found to be deficient and report these deficiencies to proper personnel
• Work with shoreside facilities to ensure cargo transfer operations comply with current Coast Guard regulations and MMT policies
• Provide leadership in tanking to vessel personnel by giving on‑site training, guidance, and performing written evaluations
• Report unsafe conditions and nonconformities to the supervisor, take action to prevent accidents, and ensure appropriate resolutions
