Counselor Teacher Leader

• PK-6 Counselor Teacher Leader

• Hold a valid New York State certification in the designated area of leadership position
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of instructional best practices
• Ability to work collaboratively in an educational setting
• Able to work effectively with a variety of staff and groups

• Plan for, facilitate, and present pertinent information at monthly meetings with respective PK-6 or 7-12 Counselors, maintain meeting minutes, and distribute copies to the Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Services and Building Principals
• Attend Building Leadership teams as requested by the respective Building Principal on an as-needed basis
• Participate in data collection and planning for the Counseling Department
• Support work related to the implementation of RTI/MTSS as needed
• Support the building-level process for course enrollment/caseloads (7-12 level)
• Meet monthly with Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Services and meet with Building Principals as needed
• Serve on district committees aligned to the teacher-leader assignment
• Gather information related to the Counseling department's needs
• Provide leadership in implementing and evaluating initiatives
• Serve as a consultant to the teachers in their respective building or department
• Attend training as deemed appropriate by the administration
• Conduct workshops, demonstrations, or in-service training for counselors/social workers as needed
• Provide input and facilitate staff development
• Participate in conference day planning
• Serve on interview committees as needed
• Maintain confidentiality with staff, student, and family information
• Fulfill general teacher-leader responsibilities, as assigned

As per the contract between Victor Central Schools and the Victor Teachers' Association

Counselor Teacher Leaders are ten-month positions. The terms were established in accordance with the contract between Victor Central Schools and the Victor Teachers' Association.

Performance in this position will be evaluated annually by district administration.
