Job Description

The Senior Project Manager provides leadership for the planning and execution of complex environmental and water management projects critical to regulatory compliance, operational continuity, and long-term sustainability at the Cripple Creek & Victor (CC&V) Mine.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role is responsible for delivering high-priority compliance initiatives, infrastructure projects, and technical studies that support permitting, regulatory commitments, and corporate sustainability objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and execution of major environmental and water management projects, ensuring delivery of scope, schedule, budget, and regulatory milestones.
  • Serve as project owner for high-visibility compliance initiatives and environmental infrastructure projects required under site permits and regulatory agreements.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional project teams including engineering, environmental, sustainability, legal, and corporate stakeholders to align project execution with operational objectives.
  • Develop and maintain project controls including schedules, budgets, forecasting, and risk management processes; monitor progress and implement corrective actions when required.
  • Manage external consultants, contractors, and vendors through all phases of project development including scoping, design review, construction oversight, commissioning, and performance evaluation.
  • Support regulatory engagement by coordinating preparation of technical reports, compliance documentation, and project updates for regulatory agencies such as CDPHE, DRMS, DWR, and EPA.
  • Provide clear and timely project reporting to executive leadership, including status updates, key risks, mitigation strategies, and decision points.
  • Maintain project documentation and regulatory records necessary to support defensibility, compliance verification, and organizational continuity.
  • Ensure all projects are executed in accordance with company health, safety, environmental, and operational standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Hydrogeology, Geological Engineering, or closely related technical discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience managing complex environmental, water management, or infrastructure projects, preferably in mining or other highly regulated industries.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering complex critical projects involving engineering design, environmental permitting, and regulatory commitments.
  • Strong understanding of Colorado regulatory frameworks and experience working with agencies such as CDPHE, DRMS, DWR, and EPA.
  • Proven ability to manage consultants and contractors, including scope development, schedule management, budget control, and deliverable review.
  • Excellent technical communication and writing skills, including preparation of regulatory submittals, technical reports, and executive briefings.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with project management and reporting tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheets, SharePoint, Power BI, or similar systems preferred.
Working Conditions & Environment

This is a site‑based position at the Cripple Creek & Victor (CC&V) Mine, located in a high‑altitude environment (above 8,000 feet). It requires the ability to perform fieldwork in varying weather conditions, including walking on uneven terrain and climbing stairs. Required personal protective equipment (PPE) includes steel‑toe boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
