Reliability Engineer

Job DescriptionThe Reliability Engineer reports to the Senior Reliability Engineer and typically works a 4‑3 schedule. The role provides technical support to the Open Pit Division through data analysis, failure analysis, and root‑cause investigation to identify risks that could affect business operations. The engineer collaborates with the Maintenance Department to improve equipment reliability and lead initiatives in loss elimination, risk management, and life‑cycle asset management.
Responsibilities- Maximize maintenance efficiency to ensure cost benefit while minimizing production interruption using predictive techniques and systems.
- Develop historical data through observation and analysis to determine component and equipment life cycles for budgeting replacements.
- Maintain accurate data management and record keeping of maintenance history.
- Support and grow a culture of continuous improvement within the maintenance department.
- Report on standard maintenance measures (availability, mean repair duration, mean time between maintenance, component usage, and cost versus budget) monthly.
- Oversight of bulk oil and fuel cleanliness standards.
- Perform oil analysis on PM samples and report findings to the reliability engineer and planning department.
- Analyze onboard monitoring telemetry data and report findings to the reliability engineer and planning department.
- Create work requests/orders for corrective actions in CMMS.
- Liaise with the Planning Department and Senior Reliability Engineer to analyze components for the 90‑day horizon for replacement or extended life.
- Perform duties in accordance with all safety practices and company policies, and undertake additional responsibilities as required.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills; written and oral communication in a wide range of forums.
- Time management: ability to pace own work and adjust priorities when necessary.
- Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions as needed.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer software.
- Capability to multi‑task and change priorities quickly, recognizing when decisions need escalation.
- Willingness to obtain MLA1 and MLA2 oil analysis certifications through a designated vendor (company‑paid).
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, a technical diploma, or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience with reporting software such as Power View or Power BI preferred.
- Exposure to project management tools and techniques preferred.
- Ability to manage and influence stakeholders across functions.
- Demonstrated ability to make data‑driven business decisions.
- Valid driver’s license.
This full‑time position requires 10‑hour shifts with occasional flexibility. The role is based at the mining site in Cripple Creek, Colorado (CC&V), with exposure to varying weather conditions and rugged terrain.

Salary range for Colorado applicants: $71,250‑$95,000.
