The Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for handling incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy, quality, and efficiency in warehouse operations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting production and order fulfillment, and keeping operations running smoothly. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment.
What you'll do- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and condition
- Verify products against purchase orders, packing slips, and shipping documents
- Process and maintain accurate records of received and shipped goods
- Organize and store materials in designated warehouse locations
- Prepare, pack, and stage outgoing shipments according to order requirements
- Maintain proper documentation, including bills of lading and shipping records
- Report damaged materials, discrepancies, or shipment issues
- Operate material handling equipment safely, including forklifts or pallet jacks
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Collaborate with warehouse, production, and logistics teams to support operations
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Perform additional duties as needed
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and drivers
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory systems
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or distribution environments
- Familiarity with inventory systems and shipping documentation
- Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment
- Knowledge of building materials or industrial products
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
- Ability to lift and move materials as required
- Work is performed in warehouse, yard, or distribution environments
- Exposure to equipment, machinery, and varying temperatures
- May require extended hours based on business needs
