Hybrid Work Model

This position is located in our Victoria, BC office. You will have the flexibility to work part of the time on-campus and part of the time off-campus. The requirement for on-campus presence is a minimum of 40% of your schedule in a month.

Additional requirements are determined by the role functions and operational needs of each business area.

We are seeking a Senior Policy Analyst to join our team in VICTORIA, British Columbia, Canada.

The Senior Policy Analyst will lead the development, analysis, and implementation of policies and directives that guide the administration of pension plans. This role is central to advising pension boards, the corporate board, and executive leadership on legislative and policy matters, while also driving the creation of new policies and reviewing amendments to plan rules and corporate directives.

You’ll be responsible for presenting to pension boards of trustees and committees, identifying and analyzing emerging issues, designing research and project methodologies, and resolving complex cases involving plan members and employers. This is a high-impact role that demands deep policy expertise, excellent communication skills, strong analytical thinking, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments with confidence and clarity.

Qualifications Must have

Master's degree in a related field (pension administration, public administration, business administration, law, economics or social sciences) and two years of related experience; OR Bachelor's degree in a related field (pension administration, public administration, business administration, law, economics or social sciences) and five years of related experience

Related experience must include the following:

  • Concisely and persuasively writing a wide range of documents/content such as briefing notes, issue papers, research papers, memos, and/or executive summaries.
  • Presenting briefings and making recommendations to decision makers on complex problems.
  • Planning and coordinating complex projects/assignments.
  • Researching, analyzing and applying policy.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Nice to have:
  • Experience in pension administration.
  • Experience researching, analyzing, applying, and/or developing pension-specific policy.
  • Experience providing legal, policy or governance advice to boards or committees.
  • Experience presenting to executives, boards or other senior officials.
  • Law degree and/or member in good standing of the Law Society of BC or eligible for membership.
