Power To Be is looking for a Grants Officer to help fuel programs that create access to nature for youth, families, and adults living with cognitive, physical, financial, and social barriers.

Aboutthe Role
This is a role for someone who can see the big picture and the tiny details.
You’llhelp coordinate Power To Be ’s grants program from start tofinish:researching new opportunities, preparing compelling proposals, gathering the right documents, tracking deadlines, coordinating reports, and stewarding relationships with foundation, corporate, and public sector partners.
You’llwork closely with the Fundraising team, spend time learning from staff and programs, and translate what you see into clear, grounded, funder-aligned writing. Some daysyou’llbe deep in a grant application or budget narrative; other daysyou’llbe connecting with colleagues, reviewing program outcomes, supporting stewardship materials, or helping shape thoughtful grant strategies.
This role is about more than writing applications.
It’sabout helping people understand why this work matters, what is possible when barriers are removed, and how their support can createrealand lasting impact.
- Coordinate the full grant cycle, including prospect research, applications, reporting, and stewardship.
- Write clear, compelling, and funder-aligned proposals, reports, letters, and updates.
- Translate program goals, participant experiences, outcomes, and organizational impact into authentic stories.
- Compile application materials, including budgets, budget justifications, staff allocations, and required forms.
- Build andmaintainrespectful relationships with funders, colleagues, volunteers, and community partners.
- Support donor stewardship processes and help keep funders connected to the impact of their support.
- Collaborate with Finance, Programs, and Fundraising colleagues to developaccurateand thoughtful submissions.
- Keep grant timelines, deadlines, activities, and information organized and moving forward.
- Support CRM data integrity, fundraising procedures, and fiscally responsible practices.
- Manage and support the Grant Assistant,providingday-to-day guidance, coordination, and oversight as needed.
- Engage in Power To Be programs at least once perquarterso your writing stays connected to the work on the ground.
You are a strong writer who knows how to bring clarity, care, and purpose to your work. You can take complex information and shape it into something meaningful,accurate, and persuasive. You are organized, curious, and steady under deadlines, with the ability to manage multiple moving pieces without losing sight of the bigger mission.
You enjoy building relationships and working collaboratively, butyou’realso comfortable taking initiative and moving work forward independently. You bring sound judgment, attention to detail, and respect for confidentiality. You understand that good fundraising is rooted in trust, authenticity, and stewardship.
You may have a background in fundraising, grant writing, communications, technical writing, non‑profit work, oranother related field. What matters most is that you can write well, think strategically, stay organized, and connect deeply with work that creates access, belonging, and possibility.
What You Bring- Three to five years of experience in fundraising, grant writing, communications, technical writing, ora related field.
