Salary: $37.73 to $42.51 per hour; additional compensation may include relocation assistance, allowances for isolated positions, and premium for supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Qualifications Education
  • Alarm Systems Technician:
    Successful completion of an electronics technician program from a recognized post‑secondary institution, OR equivalent training and experience in alarm systems installation and maintenance.
Occupational Certification
  • Electrician:
    Valid provincial or territorial journeyperson certificate of qualification as an electrician, OR valid certificate accepted by the provincial or territorial governing body as an equivalent, OR valid Technical Qualification Level (QL) 5 or higher in the Canadian Armed Forces as an electrician.
  • Electrical Line Worker and Power Line Worker:
    Valid provincial or territorial journeyperson certificate of qualification as an electrical line worker/power line worker, OR a valid certificate accepted by the provincial or territorial governing body as an equivalent, OR valid Technical Qualification Level (QL) DP3B/QL6B in the Canadian Armed Forces.
Experience
  • Alarm Systems Technician:
    Experience in repairing, maintaining, inspecting or installing alarm systems and related equipment.
  • Electrician:
    Experience working as an electrician in a maintenance or construction environment.
  • Electrical Line Worker and Power Line Worker:
    Experience in the installation and maintenance of overhead or underground electrical distribution lines, transformers or substations.

Language Requirements
  • Essential English.
  • Essential French.
  • Essential Bilingual (English – French).
Asset Qualifications Occupational Certification (Asset)
  • Valid Red Seal designation as an electrician, electrical line worker or power line worker.
  • Valid Aerial Lift certification.
  • Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA) Fire Alarm Technician certification.
  • CSA Standard Z462 Arc Flash Training Certificate.
  • Confined Space Entry training.
  • Fall Arrest training.
  • Fire Safety training.
  • Ground Disturbance training.
  • Lockout‑Tagout training.
  • Material Handling Equipment certification.
  • Occupational Health and Safety training.
  • Rigging, Hoisting and Lifting Equipment certification.
  • Standard First Aid certification.
  • Traffic Control / Flagging certification.
  • Working at Heights training certification.
  • WHMIS training.
Experience (Asset)
  • Experience supervising employees as part of regular duties.
  • Experience servicing and repairing programmable and conventional fire alarm systems.
  • Experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting intrusion alarm systems, including CCTV.
  • Experience collaborating with diverse trades and professionals.
