Be a part of BC Ferries as a Skilled Welder focusing on infrastructure projects that are critical to community safety and service. Showcase your technical skills in a marine environment.
At the Sidney Maintenance Yard, you will plan and perform welding and fabrication tasks, ensuring delivery of safe and effective solutions. This role involves coordinating with teams across multiple trades and supervising apprentices in their development. You'll need strong organizational skills for planning and traveling to various project sites.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create project sketches and calculate required materials
• Conduct welding setup and ensure equipment operability
• Transport high-risk materials safely as needed
• Lead and support new welders and apprentices
• Complete paperwork and uphold maintenance standards
Requirements:
• Hold an ‘A’ Level Welding Certificate with 3 years’ experience
• 1 year of fabrication experience, ideally in marine
• Coordination and communication skills
• Valid BC driver’s license for operational needs
• CWB certification as an asset
