Position Summary

Carpenters at On Side rebuild and restore damaged personal property anywhere and anytime a disaster strikes. With the goal of getting things back to a pre-disaster state Carpenters or Multi-Skilled Tradespeople, use the skills of carpenters, drywallers and painters! If you’re passionate about helping people and skilled at making things right, this is your chance to make a real difference.

Compensation

• Salary Range: $29-$35/hour
• Overtime opportunities (where applicable)

What You’ll Do

• Finishing work and fine details, rough and trim
• Installation, doors, trim, moldings, baseboards and hardware
• Repairs to wooden structures of all sorts
• Insulation and vapour barrier
• Cabinetry (removal, repair, reinstallation)
• Flooring installation and repairs
• Framing
• Cross train into other departments

What You Bring

• 5+ years doing interior carpentry repairs/restoration
• Interior carpentry repairs
• Experience with interior and exterior home repairs
• Leadership to guide helpers and train less experienced workers
• Refined skills with various in-home renovation repairs/restoration vs new build
• Restoration/rebuild focus (flood/fire damage)
• Attention to detail, passion for quality and pride in the work you do
• Tools and the skills to use them
• Strong people and communication skills
• A safety mindset
• Willingness to cross train into other departments
• Tech-savvy (comfortable using apps and software)
• Valid drivers license
• Ability to pass a criminal record check
• Ability to communicate in English, both written and spoken

• Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement. Meaning you’ll work regular weekday hours and participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule.
