The Admissions & Recruitment Department is recruiting for three part-time student workers to work in the Information Booth. This position supports daily front-line customer service operations in Victoria College’s new Student Success Center. Also serves as a welcoming presence for students, employees, and visitors by providing directions, answering general questions about campus services, and assisting individuals in locating offices, classrooms, and resources.
The Information Booth Student Worker helps create a positive first impression of Victoria College by delivering friendly, accurate, and professional assistance.
- Greets students, employees, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provides directions to classrooms, offices, and campus facilities.
- Answers general questions about Victoria College services, departments, and campus locations.
- Refers individuals to the appropriate office or staff member when specialized assistance is needed.
- Assists students with basic navigation of campus resources (e.g., Welcome Center, Admissions, Advising, Financial Aid).
- Maintains a clean, organized, and welcoming information booth area.
- Restocks brochures, maps, and informational materials as needed.
- Reports facility or safety concerns observed in the building to the appropriate department.
- Assists with tracking common questions or issues to help improve campus communication.
- Maintains effective working relationships with students, VC employees, and visitors.
- Demonstrates strong customer service skills and a helpful, solution-oriented attitude.
- Adheres to college policies, procedures, and confidentiality expectations.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervising department.
- Enrollment in a minimum of 6 credit hours during Fall and Spring semesters and 3 credit hours during Summer.
- English proficiency.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and courteous in a high-traffic environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable, punctual, and professional in appearance and conduct.
- Ability to stand or sit at the information booth for extended periods.
- Ability to walk short distances to provide directions or assistance when appropriate.
- Ability to lift and carry light materials (up to approximately 15 lbs.), such as brochures or signage.
