Position Summary
Student Services is recruiting for a full time Director of Financial Aid & Scholarships to work in the Financial Aid Department. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of comprehensive student financial aid programs for the college and serves as the Financial Aid Administrator of record for all purposes specified within federal and state regulations and guidelines. The Director is responsible for ensuring accuracy, timeliness, completeness and compliance with regulations.

The Director shall establish proactive services, assistance and resources for students and their families and shall develop, implement, and monitor annual financial aid and budgets, including establishing goals and activities and evaluating program outcomes. This position will lead the administration and compliance of military-affiliated student benefits, including Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) education benefits and Texas Hazlewood exemptions.

    Duties & Responsibilities
    Operational & Program Management Duties
  • Serves as the principal advisor to the Vice President of Student Services on all matters relating to the financial aid and scholarship programming;
  • Promotes a positive atmosphere by maintaining proactive relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the community at large while providing exemplary customer service;
  • Facilitates and refines internal processes to provide all students with the necessary information and assistance to understand and apply for financial aid and scholarships;
  • Works closely with Student Services management staff to coordinate all related division wide functions. Involves Instructional Services and Business Services as appropriate in the development and delivery of financial aid services;
  • Develops and implements annual goals, objectives, and assessment methods to ensure department effectiveness;
  • Develops, manages and reconciles the financial aid & scholarships operational budget in alignment with overall institutional/divisional goals and objectives;
