ESP Associates, Inc. (ESP) is seeking a skilled SUE CAD Technician to join our growing Subsurface Utility Engineering team in Texas. The ideal candidate will have experience processing survey data, developing precise SUE CAD plans, and ensuring compliance with applicable DOT standards. This role involves close collaboration with project managers and field crews and requires proficiency in various CAD software platforms.
Responsibilities- Process raw survey data from multiple sources into CAD-compatible formats.
- Develop detailed and accurate SUE CAD plans in alignment with applicable DOT Plan Development Process (PDP) and Electronic Data Guidelines (EDG).
- Conduct rigorous QA/QC checks on CAD drawings to ensure accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
- Follow applicable DOT SUE Deliverable Checklists to ensure compliance with regulatory and project standards.
- Work closely with the SUE Project Manager to meet project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with project managers, providing updates and addressing project-related issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with field crews to verify utility locations and resolve discrepancies in data.
- Identify opportunities for improvement within CAD workflows and propose methods to enhance efficiency.
- Assist in other related tasks as needed to support project goals and client needs.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a SUE CAD Technician.
- Proficiency in Micro Station v8i, Open Roads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other relevant software.
- Experience with DOT projects is highly preferred.
- Strong ability to read and interpret maps and technical drawings.
- Comprehensive understanding of utility systems, layout, and geospatial configurations.
- Ability to interpret and transpose utility records and as-built drawings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving (MVR) policy.
