Position Purpose

Responsible for complying with Performance Food Group's policies, procedures, and standards governing the privacy, confidentiality, and security of all protected health information and electronic protected health information, as well as the Security Standards for the Protection of Electronic Protected Health Information and the Standards for the Privacy of Individually Identifiable Health Information issued under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, and as amended.

Responsible for all site human resources (HR) activities including benefits, associate growth and development, associate relations and staffing, and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) compliance. Interacts with all associates, PFG corporate office, PFG subsidiaries, and governmental and private agencies. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Works with President and Senior Management to strategically plan HR initiatives that will support and benefit the Opco's business objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise associates to include, but not limited to staffing, training, coaching, performance management and problem resolution.
  • Assist managers in staffing all vacancies. Ensure all administrative items are completed according to established guidelines (i.e., I-9 forms, employment applications).
  • Assist in the training of management in application of policies and procedure. Assess training needs within the company and coordinate delivery of appropriate information (i.e., computer skills, management skills, etc.).
  • Function as an associate advocate by representing associates' issues to management as appropriate. Work with the management team in resolving associate issues by investigating concerns and sharing resolution alternatives.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of company policies and procedures to include effective communications to associates. Advise management of fair and consistent application of all approved policies and procedures.
  • Ensure benefits are explained to new associates and their enrollment is processed at appropriate time. Ensure all company benefits are communicated and administered in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Oversee procedures and processes to maintain compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) regulations. Work with Safety Committee and building maintenance team on compliance.
  • Direct the development and implementation of effective staffing strategies which include recruitment, selection, training, development, retention and succession planning programs.
  • Establish a positive, open and productive associate relations environment by proactively identifying and resolving issues of concern, and constantly communicating relevant issues and policies. Use engagement survey data to develop action plans to ensure Opco culture and associates are aligned with our strategies and values. Provide observations, suggestions, and support to help leaders and associates build a positive, collaborative culture.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, programs and associate activities to support Opco operations, making fair and consistent decisions to fulfill legal obligations. Contribute to the development of other HR policies and procedures to ensure they are consistent with Opco culture and are in compliance with local, state and federal laws.
  • Execute investigations concerning harassment, theft, worker’s compensation fraud, associate disputes, etc. Analyze and present findings to President to determine action to be taken. Advise on applicable laws to ensure fairness, consistency and compliance.
  • Ensure payroll is completed on a timely basis each payroll period. Work with department heads to ensure timely information is provided to ensure accurate payroll submittal, providing appropriate training if necessary.
  • Travel with to domicile/major service markets to provide appropriate benefit/HR related information to the Transportation/Sales Teams in those areas.
  • Spend appropriate time with all shifts/departments observing and providing support to leadership and associates to develop talent, resolve issues, and provide ideas to build positive, collaborative culture.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 4-6 years’ experience in Human Resources or related area with supervisory experience.
