Job DescriptionThe Technology Services Department is recruiting for two part time Student Workers for the Fall 2026 semester. This position works to logistically support the Help Desk Coordinator and Help Desk Support Specialist. Help Desk Student Worker assists in providing technical support for academic and administrative computing along with assisting Technology Services Help Desk.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesProvides excellent customer service to Victoria College students, faculty and staff.
Assist with performing office duties such as answering phones, transferring calls, picking up and delivering equipment, stocking paper in campus computer lab printers.
Assists in providing troubleshooting assistance to faculty, students and staff regarding various technology related problems via phone or walk-ins.
Assists in tracking department technology equipment (laptops, hotspots) by checking them in and out and assists in reporting information pertaining to their use.
Other duties as assigned.
QualificationsEnrollment in minimum of 6 credit hours in the Fall and Spring semester and 3 credit hours in the summer. To continue employment during the summer session, you must be enrolled in the interim or summer 1 session.
Must maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA), including developmental courses.
Strong communication and excellent telephone and interpersonal skills a must
Ability to understand and apply ethical standards, policy, and procedures
Ability to safeguard confidential information from intentional or unintentional disclosure
Willingness to project a professional image
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle controls, key pads, etc. Will be required to sit and reach with hands and arms as well as, sit, stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds while loading office supplies and paper. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, some color vision, and the ability to adjust focus from documents to computer screen.
Hearing of light to moderate sound is required by this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
