Machine Operator IPurpose

As an Operator I/II, the ideal candidate will learn to perform routine tasks and understand company policies and procedures. The role is apprentice and trainee in nature, with a moderate understanding of general job aspects and a superficial understanding of technical components.

Responsibilities
  • Follow all company policies regarding safety, quality, and attendance.
  • Perform duties safely and report safety hazards to the Senior Operator, Production Supervisor, Team Lead, or Safety Manager.
  • Act as a safety role model and participate in safety reporting (Unsafe Conditions, Unsafe Acts, Close Calls) and enter data into the Global Data Center (GDC).
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area, meeting plant and department housekeeping standards. Perform additional housekeeping tasks as needed.
  • Assist operators with extruder start‑ups, thread equipment with film, thread the tower with rope, and change formula percentages on blenders according to the Traveler Report.
  • Enable or disable hopper sets and set fill time (in seconds) for hoppers.
  • Identify when the vacuum pump filter, screen pack, sock sleeve on stabilizer, or print plate on the printer is worn; replace or clean as required.
  • Assist in giving breaks to packers on the lines.
  • Participate in employee‑driven teams to address scrap, quality, safety, or other production issues.
  • When assigned to roll stock, become forklift certified.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work eight‑hour shifts; overtime is required as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1–2 years of mechanical experience or previous machine operator experience preferred.
  • Good communication skills; willing to ask questions and work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Motivated, energetic, and eager to learn.
Machine Tender/Packer Purpose

Responsible for the safe operation of winders, glue machines, and folder/stackers; packaging finished goods, performing quality checks, and handling scrap product. Assists with scrap reduction, housekeeping, and maintaining quality standards while observing all safety rules.

Responsibilities
  • Follow all company policies regarding safety, quality, and attendance.
  • Report safety hazards to the Senior Operator, Production Supervisor, Team Lead, or Safety Manager.
  • Act as a safety role model and participate in safety reporting (Unsafe Conditions, Unsafe Acts, Close Calls); enter data into the Global Data Center (GDC).
  • Ensure product quality through regular checks by reading and verifying line orders and spec sheets.
  • Report out‑of‑spec products to the Senior Operator immediately.
  • Accurately complete quality check sheets.
  • Properly package finished goods, using correct labels, chips, sleeves, twist ties, pallet patterns, and code stamps.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area; perform additional housekeeping tasks as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • 1‑year previous manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of computers desired.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Availability for overtime, extended shifts, weekends, and/or holidays as scheduled.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others.
