Maintenance Technician – Downhole ToolsAs a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for assembling, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex downhole tools and subassemblies used in oilfield operations. Your expertise will span electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems to ensure safe, reliable, and high‑quality product delivery in high‑pressure, high‑temperature environments.
Responsibilities- Assemble, test, troubleshoot, and repair downhole electronic assemblies, including PCBs, sensors, telemetry modules, power systems, and wiring harnesses.
- Assemble, disassemble, inspect, and repair mechanical components such as housings, bearings, shafts, seals, fasteners, and connectors.
- Assemble, test, and troubleshoot hydraulic systems including valves, pistons, actuators, and pressure chambers.
- Perform electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and system‑level testing using standard test equipment and fixtures.
- Conduct pressure, leak, and environmental testing to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Diagnose failures and nonconformances, support root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS) and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation, inspection records, and component traceability.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and field service teams to ensure tool readiness and reliability.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Associate Degree (AAS/AS) in Electromechanical Technology, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3–5 years of hands‑on experience with electromechanical, hydraulic, or downhole tool systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical procedures.
- Working knowledge of electronic test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency with measuring tools and torque‑controlled assembly practices.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and test data entry.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, safety‑critical environment.
- Experience with data tools and systems such as Excel, SAP, MS Office, and Outlook.
- IPC certifications such as IPC‑A‑610 or IPC‑J‑STD‑001.
- Experience working with HPHT or oilfield downhole tools.
- Training or certification in hydraulic systems.
- Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong communication skills and ability to mentor junior team members.
- Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and a safety‑first mindset.
- Typical work schedule: 8:00AM – 5:00PM.
