Technician, Refrigeration​/HVAC

Position Summary

Walmart is expanding its workforce across local retail stores and is actively recruiting a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician. In this role you will support and oversee the repair of refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, and power tools to complete jobs.

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility's refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets.
• Use the work order management system to receive repair work orders, support store associates, and document repair activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training requirements to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by performing work according to Walmart's safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights.

• 2 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance or 4 years in mechanical maintenance or construction‑related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
• Large‑scale rack refrigeration experience with Type I/Type II or EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Vocational or Technical HVAC/R certification.
• State‑issued driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report.
• Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• High school diploma or equivalent; must be 18 years or older.

• Completion of a 2‑year Vocational or Technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in the city or state where the job is located.

Hourly wage range: $23.00 - $45.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation may include performance‑based bonus awards and premiums ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour, depending on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
