Transmission Line Mechanic D - Victoria

Assist in the installation, maintenance, removal, rearrangement, operation, and inspection of electrical transmission and distribution facilities. Operate line trucks and associated equipment, and support line work activities across the transmission line system.

• Perform duties in accordance with company safety rules, regulations, and practices.
• Report unsafe conditions and irregularities.
• Assemble, install, maintain, remove, and inspect conductors, fixtures, and other equipment on overhead facilities.
• Operate automotive equipment and perform incidental duties associated with its operation.
• Operate line trucks of various types, including trucks with derricks, earth‑boring equipment, trailers, winches, and transport employees and material to work locations.
• Identify all personal protective equipment and its purpose, including rubber gloves, blankets, temporary grounds, live line tools, and construction and maintenance tools and equipment.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Maintain records and submit reports as required.
• Assist employees of equal or higher classification.
• Attend and participate in training as assigned and assist in the training of other employees.
• Perform similar or less skilled work.

• High school graduate or GED.
• No previous work experience required; line work experience or line school education preferred.
• Must be available to work overtime, call‑out overtime, and shift work as required.
• Travel requirements are expected > 50% of the time.
• Must possess a valid commercial driver’s license prior to the end of the designated probationary period.
• Must acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to perform duties and/or responsibilities of this job.

• Lift 75 lbs from the floor to waist level.
• Carry 60 lbs for 20 feet.
• Lift 50 lbs to chest level.
• Lift 30 lbs to eye level.
• Walk 2 miles over an 8‑hour shift.
• Climb and work on a ladder/structure 100 ft or higher.
• Ascend bucket/lift 150 ft or higher.

• Hourly salary: $30.60 per hour.
• Salary range: $30.60 – $31.32.
