Technician, Refrigeration​/HVAC

Position Overview

Walmart is expanding our workforce across local retail stores and is actively recruiting a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician. Bring your skills to a fast‑paced and welcoming work environment.

• Support and oversee repair of Walmart facilities Refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive repair work orders, support stores and store associates, and document repair activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines by performing work according to Walmart Refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and be comfortable working at heights frequently.

• 2 years of experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Type I/Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report.
• 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years experience in mechanical maintenance or construction‑related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls, OR 4 years experience in the same or related field, with EPA refrigerant certification.

• Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.

• Hourly wage range: $23.00 – $45.00, with additional premium incentives ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
• Bonus incentive eligibility.
