Opportunity to join the Mount Alexander Shire Council Healthy Communities team.

The roleThe Manager pro-actively leads the Youth and Community Development, Early Years, Maternal and Child Health, Emergency Management and Access, Inclusion and Diversity teams, thriving on building community engagement and achieving great outcomes for our community through:
- Development of strategies, policies and guidelines in accordance with Councils long term strategic direction
- Liaising effectively with internal and external stakeholders including representing the organisation on relevant boards and committees when requested
- Management of the annual unit budget
- Providing leadership, guidance and supporting the development of staff
- Developing and maintaining the trust and confidence of staff, Councillors, the Mount Alexander Shire community and our partners
- Interpreting and managing legislation and regulation requirements
As a member of the leadership team, you will work closely with other senior staff to create and maintain a culture that supports high levels of staff engagement and performance.

- Substantial knowledge, experience and a proven track record as an effective leader in a similar senior role
- A sound understanding of key pressures and opportunities impacting on regional Victoria, the local government sector and the business areas within the organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and to work effectively in a complex, political environment.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
