Position Overview
STS Technical Services is hiring an experienced IFR Helicopter Pilot to support air medical operations in Victoria, Texas. This is a premium opportunity for pilots who want advanced equipment, strong compensation, and work that actually matters. Off duty housing is provided, and a sign on bonus of up to $100,000 is available for qualified candidates.
OverviewThis role supports high tempo helicopter air ambulance operations, flying critical care missions where safety, decision making, and professionalism are essential. Pilots operate alongside medical crews in dynamic environments and are trusted to make sound judgments when seconds matter.
Operation Summary- Helicopter air medical transport operations
- IFR operations
- Twenty four hour operations with rotating day and night shifts
- Off duty housing provided
- Aircraft transition training may require a service commitment
- Operate company helicopters for emergency medical transport, maintenance, and administrative flights
- Conduct all operations in accordance with FAA regulations, company Operations Manual, and policies and procedures
- Evaluate weather, aircraft performance, mechanical status, airport environment, and regulatory compliance prior to accepting flights
- Complete all flight and operational paperwork accurately and on time
- Maintain communication with Lead Pilot and Area Manager regarding aircraft status and airworthiness
- Represent the organization professionally with medical teams, passengers, and customers
- Report mechanical discrepancies in aircraft engineering logbooks
- Communicate mission status, itineraries, and estimated arrival times with flight crews, communications center, and maintenance
- Assist with loading and unloading stretcher patients and isolettes
- Complete all required company and FAA logs and reports
- Support Safety Management System initiatives
- Perform additional duties as assigned

- High school diploma or GED required
- FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating
- Current Class II FAA Medical Certificate
- 1,500 helicopter hours
- 1,000 hours PIC helicopter
- Must meet company flight personnel weight restriction policy
- Strong verbal and radio communication skills
- Demonstrated customer service aptitude
- Ability to pass pre placement physical, functional capacity exam including lifting up to 100 pounds, drug screening, and background check
- Schedule:
7 days on, 7 days off - Off duty housing available
