Responsibilities- Under the supervision of the Director of Physical Therapy, provide all responsibilities necessary for the successful operation of the Physical Therapy Department for Arrowhead Orthopaedics.
- Work primarily in the Physical Therapy Department front office; handle confidential patient files with privacy, discretion, and professionalism.
- Contribute to the physical therapist’s effectiveness by identifying patient care issues, providing information, commenting, recommending options, and implementing directives.
- Assess patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, updating and reviewing therapy histories.
- Document patient care services in the electronic medical record system.
- Perform therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises, instructing and assisting patients in physical activities and the use of devices (crutches, canes, prostheses).
- Instruct and counsel patients on therapeutic regimens, wellness, and health maintenance.
- Develop and implement patient management plans to ensure continuity of care.
- Supervised by the Director of Physical Therapy; communicate progress and concerns as needed.
- Interact with office and clinical staff, doctors, licensed physical therapists, interns, physical therapy aides, and patients in a professional, safety-conscious manner.
- PTA license and CPR certification required.
- Proficiency with computers and software programs, preferably Outlook and an Electronic Medical Record system.
- Professional phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Sitting and walking; daily stooping, reaching, and bending.
- Lifting up to 30 pounds.
- Normal hearing and manual dexterity to operate keyboards and office equipment.
- Clear ability to handle confidential information with privacy and discretion.
