Position: Lead Housekeeping Aide-EVS, Full Time, Varied Shift

REPORTS TO: EVS Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:The EVS lead is responsible for supervising EVS employees in the performance of their assigned duties. Provides assistance to the EVS manager / supervisor. Performs a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways and other specialized areas of the hospital. Assists in training of staff and provides direction to employees. The primary responsibility of the EVS lead is to provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times.

Other responsibilities include ensuring a safe working environment throughout the department for all employees, enforcing safety guidelines, building awareness about safety, maintaining hospital and regulatory agency standards. The EVS lead also monitors employee productivity and provides suggestions for increased service or productivity, supervises day-to-day activities of subordinates and assigns responsibility for specific work or functional activities. The EVS lead disseminates policies to subordinates, gives work directions, resolves problems, assists in preparing schedules and sets deadlines to ensure timely completion of work and trains assigned employees, The EVS lead also works with customers to ensure satisfaction in such areas as quality, service, and problem resolution.

Ability to handle emergency or crisis situations, deal with varying and unpredictable situations, contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances, work in precarious or high locations (ladders, scaffolding, etc.), and be subjected to interruptions.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: A minimum of one year of hospital housekeeping experience or a minimum of 12 months related experience or completion of a vocational training program. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
