Registered Nurse-OR Varied Shift

Position: Registered Nurse-OR, Full Time, Varied Shift
JOB TITLE: Staff RN, Surgery

REPORTS TO: Director, Surgical Services

POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides for the surgical patient's needs, by assessing, planning and implementing nursing care patient receives preoperatively, intra-operatively, and postoperatively. Nursing activities performed by the peri-operative nurse include patient assessment, creating and maintaining a sterile and safe environment, preoperative and postoperative teaching, monitoring physiologic and psychological status, integration and coordination of care across settings and among disciplines, patient advocacy, and efficient provision of resources.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing preferred. BSN preferred. Minimum of one year nursing experience in a critical care setting preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a current California RN license and BLS certification required. ACLS certification required within 90 days of hire or status change. CNOR preferred.
