:
Vidalia City Schools is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Special Education Teacher to join our team. We are looking for an educator with strong behavior-support expertise who can design and deliver high-quality specialized instruction that helps students reach their fullest potential.
Responsibilities- Develop, write, and maintain compliant, high-quality Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with IDEA and Georgia Department of Education guidelines.
- Provide specialized instruction tailored to students’ learning profiles in a small group setting (resource and/or self-contained).
- Implement evidence-based behavioral strategies and interventions to support student success.
- Collect, analyze, and report progress-monitoring data to inform instruction and IEP decision-making.
- Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to ensure cohesive support for students.
- Maintain accurate documentation and meet all state and district compliance requirements.
- Participate in professional learning and contribute to a positive, student-centered school culture.
- Valid Georgia teaching certificate in Special Education (P-12) or eligibility for certification.
- Demonstrated strength in behavior management and behavior-support planning.
- Proven ability to write effective, compliant IEPs and implement specialized instruction aligned to student goals.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and data-analysis skills.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
- Must have the ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
- Perform all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the total school program
- Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology
- Acceptable background check as per O.C.G.A. 20-2-211.1
Qualification Required
: PSC Certification
